The original server was created on the 30th of June, 2021, as a branch of r/Egypt's discord server (now known as Egypt's Cafe). Two servers owned by [[Ashiodyne]] existed before then, but she deleted them during her mental breakdowns. When the server was first created, it was just named "'''sex'''" due to Sara's lack of creativity. During 2021 it was renamed "'''kel sex club'''", "'''kel halal club for memorizing quran and al ahadeth el nabawya al 4arefa'''" due to Sara's obsession with [[Omori|OMORI]], and finally "'''kirb cult'''". On April 10th 2022, the server was finally renamed to its current name; "'''the psych ward'''".

On 18th September 2022 (in Egyptian time; it was 17th UTC), TUC0 got one of his idiot friends to try to assassinate Sara's account by raiding TPW with CSAM, which led to TUC0 being banned for some time. This happened because TUC0 was offended at Sara wanting to cut contacts with him. The 18th of September Incident has had a long legacy by still being brought up sometimes, and being specifically mentioned in [[The Psych Ward#Rules|rule]] 1.1 of the server.

=== Second iteration ===
Due to concerns about the Discord TOS and server security, Sara decided to move it fully to Telegram on the 3rd of November 2023. Around late March 2024, some of the active users left the group due to them being uncomfortable with the secret [[Kodocon|loli]] channel existing. The rest of the members became inactive at some point after this, beginning the great dark age of The Psych Ward.
